Fall '26 Swim Lesson Schedule

 New this FALL.....Adult Swim Lessons

Designed for students over 18 years of age, this class will teach beginners basic water safety, front crawl and elementary backstroke with flutter kick.  Deep water will be introduced.   Flexiable class time on either M or W between 6:30-8p.  $45.00 per half hour.

Youth Lessons

We will be publishing specific times for our class offerings soon!  General times of instuction for classes are:

6:30-6:57p;   7-7:27p;   7:30-7:57 p
Each class will be held on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, for 5 weeks total.

Session 1  Oct 6 - Nov 5  TTH evenings   
10 classes $60 ID | $70 OD  (we appologize for the Rec Guide typo of our prices)

Registration F  Oct 2  In District: walk-in at 4p  Out of District: walk-in at 4:30p

Penguins: 6 months - 26 months, then Polar Bears  27 months thru 3 years
Designed to teach parents methods for working with their child in the water, and developing water safety skills.  We will help prepare you and your child for their first independent water experience, as they age out of these classes.
Skills addressed in Penguins include:
 -Water adjustment & enjoyment; 
 -Supported arm and/or leg movement; 
 -Assisted front and back floats;
 -Underwater exploration while being supported;

Polar Bears: 27 months - 4 year Olds

Skills addressed in Polar Bears, include those listed under Penguins plus:
-Participation in class;
-Following directions, and Independently trying to do skills;
-Assisted entry and exit form pool;
-Bubble blowing, arm and leg movements;
-Continued underwater exploration 
-Introduction to listening to instructor/waiting turn;
-Use of lifejacket/personal flotation devices (P.F.D.s)

Tadpole:  3-4 Year Olds
  
Designed to be a 3 year old’s first independent water experience.
Child must be able to get into water without crying; ideally child has been in daycare and/or preschool program, separated from parent.

Shrimp: 4-5 Year Olds  

Offered as separate class for a 4-5 year old’s first water experience.

Child must be able to get into the pool without crying; ideally child has been enrolled in prior swim classes and/or daycare and/or preschool program, separated from parent.

Angelfish: 6 Years & Older 
Prerequisites: A class designed for the first time student 6 years of age and older.
Must be comfortable enough to enter water with minimal assistance ie enter water separated from parent.
 
Bass: 6 Years & Older
Prerequisites: Passed Angefish recently, and/or independently do the following;
Front float, 8 seconds; front glide, 8 feet; front glide with flutter kick,10 feet; beginning front crawl,12 feet; roll over from front glide onto back and then back onto stomach; independent back float,10 seconds, with recovery; back glide with flutter kick, 5 feet; elementary backstroke with flutter kick,10 feet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
Catfish: 6 Years & Older

Prerequisites: Passed Bass recently, and/or independently do the following;
Front glide with flutter kick,15 feet; beginning front crawl, 20 feet; roll over by taking a single arm stroke; independent back float, 20 seconds, with recovery; back glide with flutter kick,10 feet; elementary backstroke with flutter kick, 20 feet; jump into shallow or deep water, return to pool edge; sitting dive.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
Trout: 6 Years & Older 
Prerequisites: Passed Catfish recently, and/or independently do the following;
Front crawl with side breathing,15 yards; independent back float, 30 seconds; back crawl, 8 yards; elementary backstroke with flutter kick, 25 yards; jump off diving board, swim to pool edge; treading water, 20 seconds; underwater swim, 6 feet.                                                                                                                                                                                                     
Salmon: 6 Years & Older
Prerequisites: Passed Trout recently, and/or independently do the following;
Front crawl with side breathing, 25 yards; back crawl, 25 yards; elementary backstroke with whip kick, 15 yards; treading water, 30 seconds; underwater swimming, 10 feet.


INTEREST LIST ONLY AT THIS TIME
Middle School: Beginner and Intermediate

For those in middle school, if truly a first-time learner, or if its been a while, this special class will be split based on levels as presented on first day!
The Middle School - Beginner class will follow Angelfish and Bass skills, as described under "Pre-requisites".

The Middle School - Intermediate class will follow Catfish and Trout skills, and/or add Salmon skills, as described under "Pre-requisites".
